This form is not an alternative to the emergency services. For a crime that isn’t an emergency, call the police on 101.
What we do with a report
Care World helps families and independent carers find each other — it is not a care provider and does not investigate, adjudicate or supervise anyone’s care. When you report a concern, a real person reads it, acts on it, and where needed passes it to the police or to the local authority’s adult safeguarding team, who have the legal power to act. We never tell the person you are reporting.
You can also report directly to the local council
If you’re worried an adult is being abused or neglected, the adult safeguarding team at the council where they live can act whether or not you tell us. Find their council at gov.uk/find-local-council and ask for “adult safeguarding” (sometimes called the adult social care team). For a crime, call the police on 101 — or 999 in an emergency.
